Andrea Heston LMFT-S, RPT-S

Hi there and welcome! I’m so glad you found my site. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor in McKinney, TX. I work with individual adults, children, and families. I don’t believe in a one size fits all mode of therapy; however, I do pull heavily from my training in family systems.  I believe that individuals are impacted both positively and negatively by the relationships, social and cultural constructs, and other systems surrounding them. I am also a proud ally of the LGBTQ+ community and work hard to make sure our office is an inclusive, safe space for all.

My mission is to help clients see the good in themselves, feel confident in their abilities, to discover their passions, and accomplish their goals. I am especially passionate about working with women who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, creating boundaries in their relationships with others, and finding their voice.

As a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor I have additional training in working with children where I utilize Child Centered Play therapy and Activity Based Therapy. I also offer parent coaching because parenting is HARD stuff and sometimes we just need some extra support. I love helping parents find the joy in parenting by providing brain based and attachment oriented parenting guidance. As the mom of an 8 and 4 year old, I know how beneficial it can be to have someone to support you in your parenting journey.

Noelle Fernandez, LPC-A

Supervised by Christia Rogers, LPC-S, NCC

Noelle received her Masters of Science in Counseling from the University of North Texas. Noelle is passionate about helping children, teens and adults be the best versions of themselves. She believes that all people have an innate tendency toward growth. However, growth can be impacted by life events we may not have control over. This may lead to untrue and/or unhealthy thought patterns. Noelle will work together with you to target these unhelpful thoughts and beliefs and replace them with more accurate versions. Since our thoughts, behaviors, and emotions are all connected, impacting one area will impact them all!

However, for children, it is hard for them to translate their thoughts and feelings verbally. Children can better express their thoughts and feelings in their natural language – PLAY, using toys as their words. Often, “bad behavior” is just a child’s way of telling us they have an unmet need or don't have enough coping skills. Noelle’s goal is to interpret the child's play to parents and work as team with parents to provide better tools and skills to help their children and family.
